PANHANDLE COUNCIL OF CAR CLUBS
Serving Car Enthusiasts in the Texas Panhandle and the Surrounding Area
Welcome to the Panhandle Council of Car Clubs!
The Panhandle Council of Car Clubs was started in January of 1981 by David Patterson of Canyon Texas. It was established so that all the existing clubs (which numbered 8-10 at that time) would participate in local charity events. The first event promoted was the Girls Town benefit in Borger, Texas. In 1986 the Council formerly voted to promote the Make-A-Wish Foundation and to date has raised over $1.2 million for this organization. The major event each year is an indoor car show held in late February or early March at the Amarillo Civic Center. As may as 300 cars are drawn each year with this being the largest show held in the Panhandle of Texas each year.
ABOUT
The 1st Saturday of each month is ’Cruise Night’ where all the clubs and local car enthusiasts meet in Amarillo. Each club takes turns hosting the event. Cars start arriving at around 5:00 P.M. and the cruise starts at 7:00 P.M. Starting the first Saturday of January 2022, the meeting spot will be at Paramount Baptist Church (south parking lot) located at 3801 S Western St. It is not uncommon to have between 100 and 150 vehicles present. The function outgrew it’s home for years recently because of the increase in attendance and we are still growing!

The Council representatives business meeting is held the last Tuesday of each month at First United Bank located at 45/Soncy at 7:00 P.M. The Council meeting is held in the Lonestar room at the NE portion of the building. Council officers are: Billy Jones - President, Dave Martin - Vice-President, Amy Slover - Sec and Anita Fink - Treasurer. Please feel free to address any inquires to the Panhandle Council of Car Clubs, P.O. Box 7685, Amarillo, Texas 79114-7685.

CRUISE NIGHT
Cruise Night is held the first Saturday every month. Starting in January of 2022, the cruise night will be held at Paramount Baptist Church in the south parking lot. The church is located at 3801 S Western St. Cruise night is hosted by a different member club each month. Cars usually start arriving around 5:00pm. Please be friendly, drive slowly, play family friendly music, clean up after yourself and RESPECT THE SPOT! We do not want to lose our new location due to the carelessness of others. The church has offered the lot for the first Saturday of the month.
There is to be no car gatherings at ANY OTHER TIME.
Thank you for your cooperation

We need the car clubs to start providing the 2024 dates for club-hosted car shows/events (i.e. club meeting times each month, Make-A-Wish Show, Day of Thunder Show, etc.) and other established local car shows (i.e. War Memorial Show, Crime Stoppers Show, etc.). These dates will need to be as firm as possible since they will be printed in the calendar. Please start sending the dates to me at your earliest convenience to this email address pcofcc.amarillo@gmail.com.In addition, we will need photos for the calendar. If you have any photos you have taken at local car shows/events that you want to be considered for the calendar, please send them to me as well. I will have more detail to provide this group regarding the sponsorship/ads in the coming weeks.
Thanks, Amy McAlpine Slover
Secretary Panhandle Council of Car Clubs
